Of Interest: "a Jesus who is exciting, refreshing, realistic and relevant; a real Jesus who will inspire and challenge you"

In this title are words from a review by Mark Townsend of John Churcher's latest book, Setting Jesus Free. Townsend says further, "If you are a Christian believer who’s always found biblical criticism too heady and dry it will surprise and delight you; if you are a non-Christian who would like to know more about the human radical who began this whole church thing, but without the ulterior motive of winning you for the church, then this is for you; if you are any sort of priest or minister, then please get a heap of them and use them for your 2010 lent groups or bible study classes."

The O books website further says of the book (mirroring our interest here at PCNV of Harvey Cox's writing about the journey beyond the age of belief) : "There is a new global spiritual movement that supports people to think outside of the traditional boxes of faith and their inherited understandings of God. As part of this development this book is intended for those who are on the margins of the Christian Church."

  1. Interesting posts you have, though I think Christianity is dead and will be redeemed and brought to fruition and perfection through Thelema. Check out my blog at http://christianityisdead.wordpress.com/ if you will. Love is the law, love under will. ;)
