Yes, but what is progressive Christianity?

Sparked by various critiques and equally by a desire to allow room for authentic selfhood, PCNV has been watching a number of polite discussions in response to the question: "Yes, but what is progressive Christianity?" What do readers think? How do they relate to the various defintions? Does the Wikipedia article do justice to the movement?

  1. there isn't any formal definition, nor has there been an official council/see/synod of progressive Christians to seek consensus on such matters (that wouldn't be a very progressive thing to do anyway) but my new book, "Kissing Fish: christianity for people who don't like christianity" is essentially a primer in progressive Christianity.
